WNCAA POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 4
North Carolina secures their place in the Top 10. Big 12 nowhere to be found.
While this week felt uneventful based on results, it does seem like the top half of the poll is really starting to seperate themselves from everyone else. This week brought about the fewest shake-ups to date with the Top seven teams remained unchanged. Iowa State and Oregon have been unseated and will have to wait for subsequent rankings to work their way back in the Top Ten.
South Carolina Gamecocks (Last PR 1/ AP rank 1)
Stanford Cardinal (Last PR 2/ AP rank 2)
Connecticut Huskies (Last PR 3/ AP rank 3)
LSU Tigers (Last PR 4/ AP rank 12)
Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Last PR 5/ AP rank 7)
Virginia Tech Hokies (Last PR 6/ AP rank 11)
Ohio State Buckeyes (Last PR 7/ AP rank 5)
North Carolina Tar Heels (Last PR NR/ AP rank 8)
Deja Kelly wowed us with her winning, game-high 29 point performance versus the previously ranked Iowa State Cyclones. Kelly has been on our radar for over a year, but it appears the rest of the squad is also primed to take a huge step forward.
Indiana Hoosiers (Last PR 9/ AP rank 6)
Creighton Bluejays (Last PR NR/ AP rank 16)
A team by committee. Fundamental and can stretch the floor. Head coach Jim Flanery is building off the teams' improbable Elite Eight appearance from a year ago and the Bluejays seemed poised to make another deep run.
How can any power ranking metric have LSU at 4 with the schedule they've played?
